Power Management Circuit, Low Power Offline Switch, 265 VAC, DIP-8
The TNY266PN integrates 700V power MOSFETs, oscillator, high voltage switched current source, current limit circuitry, and thermal cutout into one monolithic device. Power for starting and running is derived directly from the voltage at the DRAIN pin, eliminating the need for bias winding and associated circuitry. Additionally, the TNY266PN incorporates automatic reset, line undervoltage detection and frequency jitter. Its innovative design minimizes the audio components in the simple ON / OFF control scheme to almost entirely eliminate perceptible noise with a standard taped / varnished transformer construction. The fully integrated automatic reset circuit limits output power safely during fault conditions such as short circuit or open loop, reducing the number of components and the cost of secondary feedback circuitry.
