The TOP244YN is a TOPSwitch-GX EcoSmart offline switch built into a 6-pin TO-220 package. TOPSwitch-GX employs the same proven technology as TOPSwitch, integrating high-voltage power MOSFETs, PWM control, fault protection, and other control circuitry on a single CMOS chip. It has many new features built in to reduce system cost, improve design flexibility, and ensure high levels of performance and energy efficiency. The TOP244YN features soft start, frequency ripple for reduced EMI, wider DCMAX, hysteretic thermal shutdown, and superior creepage distance packages. In addition, all critical parameters (current limit, frequency, PWM gain) have tighter absolute and temperature tolerance to simplify design and optimize system cost.
